I use them as faceplates for blanking parts. They scar up your metal stock less than the rough steel of the press plates, and they are a harder , more durable surface than lexan (which deforms) or acrylic(which is brittle , and therefore not safe an interface surface in press work).

with kevlar fibers and a resin base .
